Description and Mission

The mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities® is to "lift children and families to a better tomorrow." For families of children receiving treatment at area medical facilities, the Ronald McDonald House® serves as a home-away-from-home. Other families of hospitalized children are able to find an area of respite within the walls of their child's hospital by retreating into a Ronald McDonald Family Room.®

Activities:

Student will serve as family room volunteers at area hospitals including Boone, University and in the patient assistance area at Columbia Regional. We provide a warm, friendly atmosphere where families can feel at home, rest, use the phone, and have coffee or snacks while their family member is inpatient.

Special emphasis and skills:

Customer Service, Health Care Administration, Public Relations, Cultural & Social Assimilation, Transitional Housing
