Description and Mission

Boys and Girls Club is an after-school youth development organization that provides homework help, character education and recreation programs for disadvantaged youth. Kids on Campus is a program that brings youth to campus to experience various academic departments and activities. Our goal with Kids on Campus is to create an experience where our youth participants can envision themselves attending college.

Activities:

Students can serve as matched, one to one mentors to community kids interested in one of the majors that MU offers. Working with their match, the college students will prepare an activity each week for the project they are working on with their match; at the end of the semester the team will present their project to parents and other participants of the program.

Special emphasis and skills:

Child Enrichment Activities, Event Planning, Child Enrichment Activities, Reading Proficiency, Math Proficiency, Citizen Involvement, Cultural & Social Assimilation, Life Skills Training, Middle School Emphasis, Youth Emphasis
