Description and Mission

The mission of Centro Latino is to empower Latinos and Latino families through provision of services and guidance in navigating the health, education and legal, as well as cultural resources of mid-Missouri. Centro Latino provides assistance to immigrants as they become acclimated to their new environment with its different laws, customs, and language.

Activities:

Centro Latino has a variety of programs and activities in which students can serve. As far as health, students can serve by assisting our Promotoras de Salud. In education, we have our After School Program where students serve as teen tutors or after-school program assistants and there are also English as a Second Language classes where they can serve as language partners. In our office they can serve as resource assistants. New to Centro Latino's Legal Access Program are our Immigration Services and Anti-Human Trafficking Project where students can servie in assisting our Board of Immigration Appeals Accredited Representative/Human Trafficking Victim Services Coordinator. Students can also serve in helping create and participate in our cultural events. There are many activities for students to play a major role in at Centro Latino.
