Description and Mission

CASA, or Court Appointed Special Advocates, are volunteers appointed to abused and neglected children through the juvenile courts. Our local affiliate to the state wide organization trains new volunteers over an 8 week session and faciliates their work in the local court system.

Activities:

Attend family court. Attend Family Support Team meetings to discuss service plans and progress of the case. Attend and assist with new volunteer training. Grant writing. CASA administrative duties.

Special emphasis and skills:

Fundraising, __Legal, Public Speaking, Social Justice, Fundraising, __survey design, __survey preparation
