Description and Mission

The mission of the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital Volunteer Services program is to support and enhance the clinical and various supporting programs conducted by the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital. The volunteer program is dedicated to enriching the lives of the patients and their owners by offering assistance, information and compassion during visits for evaluation and treatments. The commitment of time and service by the volunteer staff supports the quality of services provided by the students, faculty and hospital staff in the care of our animals and their owner. Volunteers may also serve as liaisons to the community, strengthening the understanding and importance of veterinary medicine in our world today.

Activities:

Greet clients and their pets in the reception area and help with pet owner and pet hospitality. Students can serve either Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday morning, along side a hospital volunteer.
