Description and Mission

Volunteers are needed in the following departments: Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Recreation Therapy, Hospice and Patient Escort. All volunteers attend a 2-hour orientation prior to beginning their service so that they are familiar with all aspects of the hospital environment. Students must provide immunization records to hospital's Employee Health office and submit to a two-step tuberculosis skin test (PPD), and background check.

Activities:

Students can serve as patient assistants in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Recreation Therapy, Hospice and other patient care areas, as available.

Special emphasis and skills:

Customer Service, Health Care Administration, Patient Assistance, Delivery of Medical Care, Cultural & Social Assimilation
