Description and Mission

Grade A Plus, Inc. is a community based organization committed to providing academic support and cultural enrichment for youth and their families. Grade A Plus, Inc. seeks to enrich and encourage the whole child by engaging volunteers that care and desire to perform service to the community through the activities of the Grade A! Academic Support and Enrichment Program. The program provides academic support in math, reading and writing areas through direct tutoring support or learning through technology. Enrichment experiences are also provided such as dance, yoga, swimming and robotics activities and can be led by service learning volunteers. The program contributes toward building confidence, developing perseverance, and identity development, as well as contributing to academic success and achievement for the youth enrolled. Service learning volunteers interact with youth through tutoring and mentoring and can also pursue additional leadership in a real world community setting via involvement in specialty areas serving as Project Leaders for data analysis and management, nutrition education, social media management and marketing. Tutoring or Enrichment support is the base expectation for participation in the program. Visit the Grade A Plus website at www.gradeaplusinc.com, complete the volunteer application form and send a one page resume with your email request for an interview. We will contact you with an interview date, time and location. If you accept the position a training session will be provided.
