Description and Mission

A program of the MU School of Health Professions, The Health Connection (THC) is committed to keeping seniors over 50 actively connected to family, friends and the community through a physically active life. THC is a unique, full-service wellness and fitness center offering a non-intimidating environment for people of all ages and fitness levels.

In 2001 THC became part of the School of Health Professions as part of its mission for outreach and education. THC remains affiliated with MU Health Care. During this time THC has expanded from a smaller location. In addition to being a full-service wellness and fitness center, we continue to offer other services such as group fitness classes, massage therapy, screenings, personal training and special events. In 2002 the Central Missouri Arthritis Center partnered with THC to expand educational offerings in the community. THC continues to be a site for cutting edge exercise research. In 2003, the National Council on Aging has selected THC as one of 30 programs nationwide that provides high quality, value-added programming for seniors.
