Description and Mission

Primary Goal: To develop and expand social justice perspectives and obligations in all College of Education stakeholders Mission: To address critical societal needs through increasing the opportunities for learning, training, and service related to multicultural issues and endeavors.


We provide programming, activities, and opportunities for individuals to connect with one another in order to aid in the understanding of our shared humanity while also valuing our different cultural assets. Some of our events include Service Opportunities, Research Discussions, One-on-One Support Appointments, Student Discussions, Movie Discussions, Real Talk & Cookies with Dean Chval, and more! Service Opportunities include our Bridge to Mizzou: AVID Mentoring program where college undergraduates and graduates serve as near peer mentors to high school sophomores or middle school students. We also visit classes or meetings to give presentations about The Bridge and/or provide an interactive discussion about topics on diversity, inclusion and equity.
