Description and Mission

The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Jefferson City is to make a positive difference in the lives of children and youth, through a professionally supported primarily one-to-one relationship with a caring and committed volunteer, and to assist them in achieving their highest potential as they grow to become more confident, competent, and caring individuals.

Activities:

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Jefferson City is a nationally accredited, not for profit agency which has been providing services to the youth of Cole County since 1989. Big Brothers Big Sisters facilitates matches between adult mentors (Bigs) with children (Littles) age 5-17 who need additional support, guidance and encouragement. Currently, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Jefferson City serves over 250 children a year and has over 120 active matches, but there are many kids still waiting for a Big Brother or a Big Sister.

Mentoring, Child Enrichment Activities, Early Childhood Emphasis, Middle School Emphasis, Elementary School Emphasis
