The Call

Partner Type

Crisis Shelter/Counseling

Description and Mission

To educate, equip, and encourage the Christian community to provide a future and a hope for children in foster care in Arkansas. What We Believe We believe that God has called Christians from every denomination and church to minister to children in foster care in James 1:27: “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”

Activities:

How does The CALL help? Having a pool of available foster and adoptive families in every county in Arkansas would go a long way toward solving the problem. The CALL is mobilizing Christians from multiple denominations and churches in local communities around Arkansas to meet the needs of local children in foster care. Recruiting families is our priority, however, we know that not every Christian is called to foster or adopt. The CALL works with local churches to assemble a support team of volunteers to wrap around their foster and adoptive families. We also try to connect churches with other opportunities to serve children in foster care.

Special emphasis and skills:

Citizen Involvement, Youth Development, Family Assistance
