Description and Mission

The mission of Centro Latino is to empower Latinos, Latino families and the general public through provision of services and guidance in navigating the health, education, and legal, as well as cultural resources of mid-Missouri. Centro Latino provides assistance to immigrants as they become acclimated to their new environment with its different laws, customs, and language.


Service-learning students can serve as program assistants in our after-school programs. We maintain a Monday through Thursday schedule for up to 25 children Our program hours are 3:30 to 5:30 Monday through Thursday. Centro Latino Public Health program welcome volunteers to work on community outreach. Marketing, fund raising, grant writing.

Special emphasis and skills:

Community Organizing, Child Enrichment Activities, Math Proficiency, Reading Proficiency, Mentoring, Tutoring, ESL Literacy, Cultural Awareness, Legal Assistance, Cultural & Social Assimilation, Writing, Youth Emphasis
