Description and Mission

A Way With Words & Numbers is a tutoring program that utilizes the skills and resources of graduate and undergraduate students at MU to help local students master the basic skills of literacy and math. Teams of tutors consisting of volunteers, service-learning students and work study students work at 16 sites including 15 elementary schools and the Columbia Public Library. The tutors assist children in Kindergarten through fifth grade. Due to the pandemic AWWWN has continued to play a vital role in the community by moving its tutoring to a remote platform



Special emphasis and skills:

Child Enrichment Activities, Math Proficiency, Reading Proficiency, Tutoring, Youth Emphasis, Elementary School Emphasis
