Description and Mission

Frederick Douglass High School is committed to helping every student develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that will lead to a satisfying and productive life. Students will: · Acquire and process information in order to become lifelong learners. · Think critically and creatively to solve problems. · Communicate effectively. · Express creativity and aesthetic awareness. · Be healthy, productive and socially responsible citizens of a global community.

Here at FDHS we have learned that the traditional classroom setting, although appropriate for many students, does not meet the needs of all students. It has been our mission to create a variety of effective learning environments in an effort to meet the needs of those students who function more effectively in a non-traditional setting.
