Description and Mission

Smithton is designed to meet the needs of the early adolescent utilizing the following tenets: 1) academic challenge 2) appropriate socialization opportunities 3) guided exploration 4) daily physical activity 5) advisory opportunities 6) two-year teaming

Activities:

Students can serve as mentors and tutors during school hours (7:30AM-3:00PM). Students can also serve as mentors and tutors after school from 3:00-4:15. It is appreciated if students are available for a two or three hour period once a week, depending upon the number of service hours required. Smithton faculty are particularly interested in service learning students that are avaiable during the following times any day of the week: 8:00-9:00, 9:30-12:00,12:30-1:30, 2:00-3:00. Scheduling can be flexible. Tutoring Emphasis Areas: English (Writing and Reading) or Math
