Description and Mission

Job Point is mid-Missouri's premier employment center and community development center, fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). Since 1965, we have been linking people and education, training and employment support. Our YouthBuild program was established in 2003, serving the needs of young men and women between the ages of 17 and 24 who are looking to earn construction trade certifications and their GED. Other programs include skills training in the areas of Certified Nursing Assistant, Carpentry, Highway/Heavy Construction, Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning. Rehabilitation Services provides job placement support for individuals who have a disability.

Activities:

Tutoring (especially with math); Assisting clients with job search activities such as completing online job applications, conducting mock interviews, developing resumes; teacher assistant; marketing assistant; event planning.

Special emphasis and skills:

Reading Proficiency, Carpentry, Math Proficiency, Cultural & Social Assimilation, Financial Literacy, Computer Skills , Construction, Educational Counseling, Mentoring, Client Counseling, Life Skills Training, Human Resource Development, Employment Training
