Description and Mission

Our mission is to produce high-quality live theatrical productions at the Talking Horse Theatre, a small (60-70 seat) venue in the North Village Arts District in downtown Columbia. Our productions focus on strong scripts and strong acting rather than lavish sets and costumes. While we serve the entire Columbia community, we also desire a strong connection with all three college campuses because of our location. We offer opportunities to participate not only as audience members, but also as volunteers.

THP is interested in starting some sort of internship program, particularly in the technical area, to give students an opportunity to design and tech productions. Additionally, opportunities with small business development, marketing, and advertising are also available. Giving students the chance to be a part of a start-up arts company will be a wonderful thing for us and for them.

Special emphasis and skills:

Marketing, Financial Development, Business Plan, Grant Administration, Financial Planning, Grant Writing, Outreach
