Description and Mission

New Haven is an elementary school in the Columbia Public School system. New Haven is comprised of a unique group of students and has a diverse student body with over 50 English Language Learners. Our mission in the ELL department is to support students and families so that they can be more successful in school, and feel comfortable in our community.

Activities:

Bilingual students (mostly Spanish) are needed to assist and support English Language Learners in their homes, or at school as after-school tutors and mentors. On Monday nights we also need childcare providers for a parenting group.

Special emphasis and skills:

ESL Literacy, Reading Proficiency, Math Proficiency, Youth Emphasis
