Disability Services

Description and Mission

Our church supports a variety of programs aimed at assisting those in need. The All God's Children program is unique in that it allows children with a variety of disabilities, who would otherwise not be able to participate in traditional church services, to engage in a variety of church activities. Some of these activities include Sunday School, youth group, Vacation Bible School, church camp and youth community events. Depending on the needs of the children, learning will be supported with adaptations such as music, storytelling, and different forms of interaction.

Activities:

Service learning students provide direct support to children with disabilities engaging in art, music, cooking, and a variety of other activities in a religious education setting during Sunday morning sessions and youth group activities. Students also have the opportunity to create activities, adapt lesson plans, lead sessions, and create materials as their interests and program needs change over the course of the semester. Finally, students will be able to work with the parents and other family members of the children to assist in planning respite care events and offer family support. If interested, interviews will be held for students on 1.28.18 @8am 2.4.18 @8am and an orientation will be held on 2.11.18 @8am 2.18.18 @8am.
