Dates and Times

Kids in the Kitchen summer camp will be held for one week this summer: Monday through Friday, July 24-28. Volunteer hours are 11:00am-5:00pm. Classes will be held at the Columbia/Boone County Health Department (1005 W. Worley Street).

Service Activities

Volunteers help demonstrate and assist individuals (ages 13-17) with disabilities in learning meal planning, cooking and kitchen safety/sanitation. Volunteer help is requested to assist with the set-up and clean-up, preparation of meals, guiding and empowering students, and having fun.

Special Criteria

Volunteers need to have a background screen (which SIL pays for) prior to mid-July. They also need to complete orientation and necessary paperwork to volunteer at SIL.
