Columbia Public Schools is hosting a Transition Academy to prepare high school students for life after high school. We are needing volunteers to help in the sessions offered in this student conference. Friday, March 23rd, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30. All day sl

Service Activities

Budgeting- We need volunteers to help run a budgeting simulation in which students are given a set amount of $, asked to stop at each station and choose how to spend it, and given the chance to buy candy with any left over $. Volunteers will be used to run each station, give/take $, and have conversations with students about how to make spending decisions. Room Facilitator- We need volunteers that can commit to the ENTIRE day. Facilitators will be in charge of helping presenters with technology, passing out handouts, and helping keep everyone on schedule! The Transition Academy will be held on March 23, 2018 for all 9-12th grade special education students at Rock Bridge, Hickman and Battle High School. Volunteers will receive a volunteer packet with further directions in February! Date: 03/23/2018 (Fri.)

Special Criteria

Interest in working or supporting Special Education students grades 9-12th grade.
